I am searching for information on two doctors who I believe are brothers: Dr. Abram WALLING; Dr. Croel WALLING. Abram was born about 1807 in NY; in 1839 he attended the University of Louisville medical school. In 1840 he married in Caldwell County, Kentucky, Mary Jane ASHBY; they immediately went to Carrollton, Carroll county, MO and lived there until about 1858. They were active members of the Christian church in Carrollton. Abram was probably a southern sympathizer. In 1858 the family left Carrollton and went to Ft. Worth, TX, where Abram, according to family tradition, died of a snakebite in 1860. After Abram's death, Mary Jane and the children moved back to Carrollton. Abram and Mary Jane ASHBY WALLING had four children: Ophelia (married Wm. WINFREY and remained in Carrollton), Croel (who lived most of his adult life in OK), Edmonia, and Vasco. Only Ophelia and Croel had descendants. I assume that Abrams son Croel (born 1847 in Carrollton) was named for the Dr. Croel WALLING. Dr. Croel WALLING was born about 1810 in NY, but I have no further record of him until 1843 when he married Sicily JOHNSON in Howard county, MO. Sicily died in 1850, and in 1853 Croel married Margaret STANTON in Platte county, MO. There are land records for Dr. Croel WALLING in Livingston county, MO in the 1850. In 1870 Croel and Margaret Walling are in the Buchanan county, MO census. Croel died before the 1880 census, but I don't know when. Dr. Croel Walling and his first wife probably had at least 2 children, Sicily and Addie; Dr. Croel Walling and his second wife had 4 children; Novazembly, Loran, Cora and Lucy. I would be especially grateful to learn the death date of Dr. Croel WALLING and of course the parents of Drs. Croel and Abrma.

We have met total roadblock locating ancestors of grandfather JOHN H. EZELL, who died in Kansas City in 1888. He was born North Carolina 1842, fam moved to KY where several were born and then on to MO. John H. and brother HOWELL both served Civil War - HOWELL having been killed, and John H. totally disabled. John H. married MARY JANE LODGSDON in 1867 - lived in KC, where he died in 1888. We were unable to locate birthplace in NC where JOHN AND HOWELL were born. Their father was WILLIAM EDWARD EZELL, born VA d. 1818 - but we stop there. William left VA for NC before these two were born by an unknown first wife. We find them next in KY, where he was remarried in 1847. We need the link in NC to go back. We've spent three years to date, but can't make the tie to VA. Are old newspaper obituaries available from KC that may list John's birthplace? Where could I find such if available.

I am looking for additional info on Miller brothers, Samuel, Lewis and Jacob, that went to Platte county in 1839 from KY. Any info on Samuel's wife Elizabeth b. in PA., about 1786. When and where did they get married? Is there any record of a sister Jane? Missouri info indicates that they came from Green county, KY yet marriage records for their children are in Washington county, KY. Any more info on Green county? They might have gone thru Green county before going to Mo. Im looking for other siblings that might have gone to Mo with them Others noted on farm plots (1840) are Robert Shaw and Coleman G. Shaw located next to Lewis' farm; Samuel T. J. Harris located close to Samuel's farm; and Francis Shaw located near Samuel's farm. Any info on these famiies to know if they came from Nelson/Washington/Marion county,KY. There are KY conncections with these surnames. Another one is James G. I am seeking any info for William BEAN (and descendants) who came to Platte county with his family, in 1838, from Mason county, KY. His son, Benjamin BEAN, entered alot of land, including "BEAN LAKE" which was named for him. Joanna, wife of William, apparently wasn't alive at the time of the move, as nothing is found of her in MO, or what her maiden name was. William is buried in the Alexander cemetery and left a will. Most of his property went to his granddaughter, Juliana BEAN. William was grandfather of the famous, "Judge Roy BEAN", who real name was, Phantly Roy BEAN, Jr. Thanks for any help.

Harris that shows up in the 1850 census for Platte county as 43 yr old from KY with wife Sally. I am trying to build David and Deborah Miller family in nelson/Washington/Marion counties. They age German immigrants (about 1756) that came thru PA and then to Nelson county, KY by 1797 and on to nearby Wshington county. They raised 12 children and all but 2 migrated to Indiana, Missouri and Texas. I'm pretty sure Samuel, Lewis and Jacob are their children. Im corresponding with Ms. Berniece Miller of Platte city on this matter. Appreciate any info that anyone can share on these items.

I am really going out on a limb with this one. I have a George Ann Grady born 1854 in Platte county to James Grady and Mary A. Masoner. She disappears after the 1870 census. I have found a marriage for a George Ann Grady and a George West in Buchanan county 25 Oct 1874. Could this possibly be the same one? I also have a George Armstrong receiving a grandchild's portion of the estate of Teter Masoner in 1888 in Platte county. I have found no Armstrongs in the Masoner family at this point. Now for the stretch: Could George Armstrong be George Ann Grady and not George Ann West? I haven't found a marriage record for Grady-Armstrong or West-Armstrong on any of the CDs that I have. I have the index for marriages in Platte county and didn't find one there. I am open to suggestions on how to determine if either of these fit into the family.
