Tillerson will be honored at a reception in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. The reception, hosted by their children, will be held at the Weston Christian church. Mr. and Mrs. Tillerson were married on May 5, 1917 in Macon, Mo. They came to Weston in 1931 and have lived here since then with the exception of one year when Mr. Tillerson "filled" in for another Burlington employee at Rushville. Mr. Tillerson was employed with the Burlington RR when they were married and retired in Oct 1958. The family are members of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist church and have always been active in things of the church. They have both been members of the PTA, worked with the Boy Scouts, in the Garden Club and are most accomodating hosts, anytime they are called, at the Weston Museum. The Tillerson introduction to Weston was a bit on the rough side as the truck carrying their furniture overturned in the yard of the late Mrs. Bessie Gow, as it made the turn on the corner of Welt and Short streets. Mrs. Tillerson said the furniture fortunately, was not broken but just came apart at the "seams". It was put back together by Mr. Hollied and, said Mrs. Tillerson "we are still using it." The Tillersons lived for a while in the home now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Vern Adams and in the DeBerry property before moving to their present home on Platte City road. Mr. and Mrs. Tillerson are the parents of two children, Roy Bernard Tillerson of Oklahoma City, who is married and has a daughter, Kathleen, and Mrs. John Kriz of Palatine, Ill. She and Dr. Kriz have three youngsters, David, Barbara, and Michael. Friends are invited between the hours of two and four.
