Ray Price Tillerson, a long time resident of Weston, died Thursday morning 
March 1 ath the Higginsville, Mo., Mesical Center, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Tillerson was born June 15, 1892 at Callao, Missouri and in 1917 he went to 
work for the Burlington Railroad. That same year he was married on May 5, 1917 
to Miss Lena Lee Cook, and in 1932 the couple moved to Weston with his company. 
They lived for years in the little home on Walnut Street where Mr. Tillerson's 
skills with tools was amply put to use as he made and installed his own 
cabinets and remodeled an attic into a bedroom for his children. The Tillersons 
did most everything as a couple, being active in PTA, the Boy Scouts, the 
Weston Garden Club, and even hosting numerous times at the Weston Historical 
Museum.
In the years they resided in Weston, there was not a more gentlemanly neighbor 
and friend than Mr. Tillerson. He retired from the railroad as a signal 
maintainer in October 1958. The couple stayed in Weston until ill health forced 
them to move to Columbia in 1973. Mrs. Tillerson died November 22, 1974.
He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and in later years 
attended the Weston Baptist Church where he had many friends.
Survivors are his son, R.B. Tillerson of New Orleans, La,; daughter, Doris 
Kriz, Columbia, Mo; and four granchildren. He was preceded in death by an 
infant daughter, Marie Kathyleen.
Funeral services will be Saturday at the Bram and Edwaards Funeral Home in 
Callao and burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Callao.
