G. Winder, 87, of Weston, died at his home Saturday evening, after a lengthy illness. Born in St. Joseph, January 31, 1884, he was the son of Sam and Emma Smith Winder. He was a resident of St. Joseph from 1928 until 1962 and was a retired employee of Armour and Company. He moved to Weston after his retirement to make his home. Mr. Winder was a member of the Christian Church at Weston. Survivors include his wife, Hattie Winder, of the home; a son Willard Winder of St. Joseph and two daughters, Mrs. Alberta Kyle and Mrs. Arventa Anderson of Weston; a sister, Mrs. Effie Johnson of Dearborn, five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Heaton-Bowman Funeral Chapel at East Hills, St. Joseph. Rev. Charles Hagee of the Woodson Chapel Christian Church conducted the services. Organist was Robert T. Grubb, and soloist, Merle Wolmac, sang selected hymns. Pallbearers were Elmer McMillian, Albert Duncan, Joe Grisham, Irvin Winder, Larry Winder, and Sam Winder. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph.
