Putnam Missouri, obituary Mariah Ford Unionville Republican 7 Feb 1900 Mrs. Mariah FORD "Grandma" Ford as she was familiarly called by those who knew her was stricken with paralysis of the brain while at the supper table last Thursday evening at the home of her son, John Ford, just south of town, and died at 11:30 that night. She had been in feeble health for several years past but no unusual symptoms were manifested until she was suddenly taken ill at supper. Her son assisted her to the rocking chair after which she soon lapsed into unconsciousness and the spark of life went out in a few hours. Deceased was born in Kent County, Delaware 72 yaers ago, and in1859 came to Indiana where she lived until coming to Putnam County in 1870. Her husband, Thos. S. Ford was a member of the 37th Indiana regiment and died while in the service at Louisville, Kentucky, in 1864. Eight children were born to their marriage, but two of whom, John W. and Abel, are living. Mrs. Ford was a woman who was much loved by her many acquaintances and she will be sadly missed by her family, friends and acquaintances. The burial services were conducted at the Unionville cemetery Saturday. ==================================================================== Copyright.
