Newspaper Sept. 1940
William J. Johnson, son of William and Mary Jane Johnson, born in Putnam C.in
the year of 1863 and died Sept. 1, 1940 at the age of 77 years.  
Surviving him 5 daughters, Elizabeth McGill, Opan Rogers, Golda Pauley, Cora
Pauley and a son Robert J. Johnson.  Also 4 brothers Harvey, Webb, Elijah and
Ben Johnson, and on sister, Missouri Means.  He was untied in Marriage to Mary
E. Grindstaff in 1899, who survives him.  The body was laid to rest in the
Newtown Cemetery.
