MISSOURI FARMER KILLED

"Bud" Leake of Ralls County, and His Fatal Accident


"Bud" Leake, a farmer residing about two miles west of Centre Ralls County, Mo., 
met with a fatal accident last Saturday.  He drove to Centre in a wagon, and the 
wagon had no bed.  Mr. Leake was sitting on the running gear and his foot came 
in contact with a stick of wood that was in the street.  His leg was pressed 
against the brake of the wagon with such force as to break it in three places 
and crush the bones.

He was taken into a physician's office, where he received surgical attention, 
and was then conveyed to his home.  He continued to grow worse and finally 
lockjaw set in, which terminated in his death Tuesday afternoon.  The deceased 
was a very prominent farmer, was about 30 years old and leaves a wife and three 
children.
