Hardister Cemetery, Huntsville, Randolph County, Missouri Hardister Cemetery is located 3.2 miles off of East Elm Street in Huntsville, on County Road 95. It sits upon a hill, is beautiful and remote. A large shingle oak tree is at the front of the cemetery. The cemetery is fenced, with one corner badly overgrown. The newest date on a legible tombstone is 1926. There are many graves marked by only native rocks, and at least 3 rusted metal funeral home markers. Although careful scrutiny was used to record this cemetery, many old limestone tombstones are illegible. For data that was not clear, numbers or letters on the stone that are questionable are indicated in parentheses. Inscriptions are included if they were legible. Except for part of the cemetery kept up by one or two surviving relatives, it is essentially abandoned. Like many old cemeteries, it has been vandalized. Recorded 9/8/2001.
