Holman Yesterday morning the community was greatly shocked when the report that Dan Holman had died at three o'clock was current. Wednesday he was at his business, during the morning but in the afternoon he had to go to his home. He grew worse and a physician was called. Either acute indigestion or neuralgia of the stomach and hear and is supposed to have seized him and his suffering was intense until just before he died. He was resting easy and talked to members of his family but a few moments before he expired almost suddenly. Hemorhrage from intense pain and convulsions is given as the probable cause for his sudden collapse. Daniel J. Holman was born near Huntsville, Mo., Oct 23, 1851 but spent most of his life in this county and in this neighborhood or city. He was married Jany 25, 1876 to Miss Harriett A. Davis and to the union came eight children who with his widow survive him. His son Warner is employed in Milwaukee, his sisters married and principally residents of the west all his daughters married except Miss Ernestine. Dan Holman was a good man, his loyalty to his family, friends and political party were known to all. The most of his life was spent farming but a few years ago he moved from his farm north of town to this city and was post master during Republican administration for several years. After leaving the post office he engaged in farm pursuits until he purchased the harness and shoe shop which he conducted to the time of his death. On account of distant relations funeral arrangements had not been made at time of going to press.
