Brown announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Luverne Marie, to Stanley Atkinson of Kansas City, son of Mrs. H.C. Atkinson of Brookings, S.D. Miss Brown is employed with the Center Surety and Insurance Co., at Kansas City. Mr. Atkinson is a student at the dental college in Kansas City. Atkinson Miss Luverne Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse D. Brown, North Institute street, and Stanley C. Atkinson of Kansas City were married on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of her parents, Mr. Atkinson is a son of Mrs. C.H. Atkinson of Brookings, South Dakota. The ceremony was performed by Elder J.C. Jones of Plattsburg, uncle of the bride, before an arch of pink roses and evergreen and white tapers. Mrs. Atkinson wore a power blue dress with corsage of gardenias and pink roses. She was attended by Miss Margaret Davidson of Liberty. Miss Marjorie Jones of Kansas City played the piano softly during the service. E.C. Atkinson of St. Joseph was attendant for his brother. Mrs. Atkinson is employed at Central Surety and Insurance company of Kansas City. Mr. Atkinson was graduated from South Dakota State college at Brookings, S.D., and is a senior in the Kansas City Western Dental college. After a short wedding trip, they will be at home at the Sterling apartments, 2840 Forrest, in Kansas City. Other guests at the wedding and reception were: Mrs. C.H.
