Ray County, Missouri Marriages - Marriage Records - McDonald-Megede Richmond Missourian Richmond, Ray County, Missouri 6 JAN 1916 Front Page McDonald-Megede. Richmond Girl Weds Superintendent of Schools of Stanberry, Mo. A pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Megede, Friday evening, December 31st, when their daughter, Miss Katherine and Mr. Mason McDonald of Triplett, Mo., were united in marriage. The spacious Megede home was very pretty with the decorations of potted plants, roses and carnations. Only a few of the close friends of the contracting parties, near neighbors and relatives were present at the wedding. Promptly at 5:30 o’clock, the bride and groom descended the stairs to the strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march played by Miss Sadie McDonald, sister of the groom. They took their places before an alter of palms and ferns in the parlor and were met by Rev. C.P.W. Wimberly, pastor of the Presbyterian church, who performed the ceremony. The bride wore her traveling suit of brown with hat to match, and a corsage boquet of bride’s roses. After the wedding service, the guests were invited to the dining room where a three course luncheon was served. Mrs. Megede was assisted by her daughters, Misses Nelle and Isabel, and Miss Sadie McDonald. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Megede, a graduate of our high school and Synodical College. She has also specialized in domestic science at the Warrensburg Normal and at the Maryville Normal. Last year she taught domestic science in the Jefferson City high school. She is a cultured and life companion to her husband. Mr. McDonald is a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. McDonald of Triplett, Mo., and is one of the promising young teachers of the state. He was for one year teacher of mathematics in the local high school and was re-elected for the following year, but he declined the Richmond offer to accept the superintendency at Stanberry. He is indeed a splendid gentleman, well trained for his life’s work. He attended Central College, Fayette, and graduated from the state university at Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. McDonald left, Friday evening for Kansas City to spend several days before leaving for their home in Stanberry. The Missourian joins the host of friends in wishing Mr. and Mrs. McDonald the choicest blessings of life, and may joy, health and prosperity ever be theirs. The out of town guests were Mr. C.D. McCoy of Independence, Miss Nimmie Megede of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. F.H. McDonald and family of Triplett, Missouri, Mrs. Harold Dunn, Kansas City, Mr. James Kelly, Fayette. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by County Coordinator USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
