Ray County, Missouri - Lawson Review, January 13, 1916 - Mrs. G. W. Best Severely Burned Lawson Review Lawson, Ray County, Missouri 13 JAN 1916 Front Page Mrs. G. W. Best Severely Burned While preparing the noon meal, Tuesday Mrs. G.W. Best, 3 miles north and east of Lawson, received a severe burn, which is very painful but not thought to be dangerous. In some manner her sleeve caught on fire and which might have been more serious was averted by the quick work of her granddaughter and Jas. McQuerry, a neighbor who happened to be at the Best home at the time in extinguishing the flames that would have quickly enveloped her had it not been for the timely assistance of the two above mentioned. Her hair was singed somewhat and together with the severe flesh burns may yet prove more serious for a lady of her age. At last reports however, Mrs. Best was getting along nicely and her many friends and neighbors hope that she may be up and around soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
