Ray County, Missouri - Richmond Democrat transcription: July 5, 1883 Richmond Democrat 5 JUL 1883 Mormon Delegation. Richmond was visited one day last week, by quite a delegation of prominent Mormons. The following composed they party: W.W. Pratt, D.F. Davis, W.M. Palmer and Stephen R. Marks from Salt Lake City, and Oliver Nebeker of Indiana. We learn they were here for the purpose of seeing Uncle David Whitmer, who holds in his possession the original Book of the church, but who will not depart from it under any consideration.
