Ray County, Missouri - Richmond Democrat transcription: September 20, 1883 Richmond Democrat 20 SEPT 1883 Mr. Jacob Holland, probably the oldest person in North Missouri, was on our streets Tuesday, looking very fresh and lively for a man who has seen the frost of 92 winters (and many of them Missouri winters at that) and done service in five bloody wars. The war of 1812, the Florida war, Mexican war, Black Hawk war and the late war between the States. He is drawing, we understand, two pensions for wounds and disabilities received while battling for this country. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
