Mr. Vest Dale, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dale, residing in the Swanwick neighborhood, was accidentally shot by his companion, Willie Davis, while hunting, Saturday afternoon. The Davis boy was carrying a 22-calibre rifle and in some manner after he had cocked the gun he pulled the trigger while the Dale boy was in front of him. The ball entered the right breast and followed a rib around inflicting only a flesh wound. While it was a painful injury, it was thought that young Dale’s condition was dangerous for some time and Drs. McGaugh and Shotwell of Richmond and Dr. Cook of Rayville were summoned. Mr. Dale’s condition is much improved and he will soon be well again should no complications set up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
