CROWLEY DEAD [note added by contributor: nee Harriet Babcock] Mrs. W.D. Crowley of Lawson passed away yesterday after a long illness. She passed away at 1:30 p.m. at the home of her son, Lindsay Crowley, and Mrs. Crowley. She was born and reared near Lawson, a daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Richard Babcock, pioneer residents of this community. Mrs. Crowley spent her entire life in Lawson and vicinity. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Van Bright, and two sons, Francis Crowley and Lindsay Crowley, of Lawson; three grandchildren, Miss Betty Crowley, Billy Crowley, and Lindy Crowley, of Lawson; a half-brother, C.B. Stockwell, of Kansas City, and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Crowley was a faithful member of the Christian Church and, until her illness prevented, she took an active part in the various phases of the work of the church, as well as in civic and social affairs. For many years she was a member of the board of trustees of the Lawson Cemetery Association. An earnest, sincere and conscientious Christian woman; a loyal civic worker, and a hospitable hostess, her passing is a matter of deep regret to the entire community. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Lawson Christian Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Baxter Waters, of Liberty. Burial will be in the Lawson Cemetery. The Morrow Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Janice Marasch USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
