Ray County, Missouri Obituaries - Flournoy, Lawson William d. January 8, 1893 b. January 14, 1891 d. January 8, 1893 cem. nee: pd. p. Ray County Conservator obit: Died Lawson William, son of Matt. C. and Rose Flournoy, near Norman, I.T., on Jan, 8th, 1893, after a brief illness of membraneous croup. Little Lawson was born Jan. 14th, 1891, and had therefore almost rounded out his second year of life when death, who is no respector of persons or station, claimed him for his own, leaving a vacant place in the little family circle which can never be filled, and a wound on the young mother’s heart which can only be appreciated by those who have seen the grave close over their departed ones. Mr. Flournoy will be remembered by his many friends in Ray county, where he was raised and lived all his life till three years ago, when he with his young wife went to make their home in Oklahoma. Mrs. Flournoy was the second daughter of L.M. and Maggie Patterson, who, live near Hallard. To the bereaved parents in their far distant home, we voice the sentiment of this entire community when we extend a profound sympathy in the sad trail they are called on to bear so early in their journey of life. We would say to them, "weep not" for what seems now to be your loss is your baby’s gain. He has gone to a world where sickness and sorrow are unknown, and while he can not come back to you, the consolation is your, that you may go to him. A Friend. Rayville, Mo., Jan. 24th, 1893. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
