Ray County, Missouri Obituaries - Gossen, ?? d. 1893 b. d. 1893 cem. nee: pd. p. Ray County Conservator obit: Killed by the Cars. Wednesday evening between six and seven o’clock a brakeman on the Santa Fe railroad by the name of Gossen was run over by the cars in the Wabash yards at R.&L. Junction, and killed while making a coupling. He went in between the cars for the purpose above stated, and his foot got fastened in the frog to the switch and the cars pulled him down, passing over his body and crushing the life out of him. He was a young man and his home was in the state of Michigan. We failed to learn his given name. Coroner I.C. Hill was sent for and in company with Constable R.K. Green, went to the Junction late yesterday evening where an inquest was held over the body, the jury returning a verdict in accordance with the above facts.
