Killed by the Cars.
On Monday morning as passenger train number 21, of which Mr. Stout is conductor,
was going to St. Joseph, when between Lawson and Converse, the crew discovered 
the body of a man lying beside the railroad track. The train was stopped and 
the body was placed on it and taken to Converse where it was identified as that
of James Huff, a farmer who resided in Clinton county, a few miles northwest of
Lawson. We are informed by Maj. R.J. Williams, who was on the train, that the 
dead man was a nephew of Thos. Huff, of Lawson. His body was terribly torn and
mangled and it is supposed that the pay car that went up the road to St. Joseph 
late Sunday night struck him, though nothing definite is known as the body was 
cold and stiff and had been lying beside the track for several hours when found.
