Richmond Missourian, Richmond, Ray County, Missouri; Page 3 obit: Death of Mrs. Judith Hagan. Mrs. Judith A. Hagan, wife of George Hagan, was born in Ray County on September 14, 1843, and died, January 14, 1916, at 4:15 p.m., aged 73 years. She was married to George Hagan in February, 1868; to this union were born two children - Bert Hagan and Henry Hagan, who survive her. She also leaves a nephew, Teddy Brockman of Huntsville, whom she raised from infancy. Mrs. Hagan was a member of the Methodist church with she united when she was young. Aunt Judith Hagan, as she was called, was a good christian woman and a good neighbor, liked by every one how knew her. A good mother and neighbor is gone she will be missed in her home and community. We watched her breathing through the night, Her breathing soft and low; As in her breast, the wave of life Kept heaving to and fro. So silently we seemed to speak, So slowly moved about, As we lent her half our powers To eke her living out. Our very hope belled Our fears our hopes belled; We thought her dying when she slept, And sleeping when she died. For when the morn came dim and sad, And chill with early showers, Her quiet eyelids closed- She had another morn than ours. Funeral services were held from Dockery church, Sunday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, by Rev. C.M. Aker, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was made in Dockery cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
