Hedrick Harold Lee Hedrick, 76, of Richmond died May 28, 1989, at Ray County Memorial Hospital. He lived at Shirkey Leisure Acres in Richmond. Services will be at 10 a.m. June 1 at the Thurman Funeral Home at 627 E. Main St. in Richmond. The Rev. Kenneth Lockamy will officiate. Visitation will be on May 31 at the funeral home. The burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. The pallbearers will be Edward Lackey, Michael E. Smith, William J. Lackey, Bill Howard, Leo Smith and Mark McFee. Mr. Hedrick was born June 12, 1912, in Ray County to Oscar and Mary Katherine (Whelchel) Hedrick. He lived his entire life in Ray and Carroll counties. Mr. Hedrick married Freda May Bowery of Richmond in January, 1935. She died in 1982. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon L. Smith of Rayville and Elizabeth A. Johnson of Richmond; four sons, Carl Hedrick of Austin, TX; Harold D. Hedrick of Parma, OH; and William D. Hedrick of Kansas City, MO. Mr. Hedrick is also survived by four sisters, Margaret Elliott of Liberty; Ina Smith of Richmond; Mary Cringan of Bonner Springs, KS; and Imagene McAdams of Oskaloosa, KS; one brother, Orby Hedrick of Independence, MO; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Howard and J.W. Hedrick, preceded him in death. Mr. Hedrick retired from the Stanley Feed Mill in Kansas City. He was a member of Local 16, the American Federation of Grain Millers. Mr. Hedrick was previously a coal miner. He was a member of Rock Falls Baptist Church and also attended Calvary Baptist Church in Rayville.
