Ray County, Missouri Obituaries - James C. Harris James C. Harris, 224 S. Kimball, died Thursday at the Excelsior Springs City Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 66. Mr. Harris was born on Aug. 12, 1915, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of James S. and Nellie (Gilchrist) Harris. He had lived in Excelsior Springs 62 years. He worked for the Missouri Power & Light Company 33 years before he retired in September 1980. Mr. Harris was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Clyde Gustine Post of the American Legion. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. On Dec. 27, 1946, he was married to Betty Jane Paulson of Orrick. He leaves his wife of the home; two daughters. Mrs. Freda Webb of Hawaii, and Miss Marie Harris, Excelsior Springs; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Burke, Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Cecile Perry, Council Bluffs. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Perry officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
