Ray County, Missouri Obituaries - Petty, Ralph Elmore d. May 29, 1893 b. 1892 d. May 29, 1893 cem. Richmond City Cemetery nee: pd. p. Ray County Conservator com. infant son of Rev. and Mrs. J. E. Petty obit: Died At the home of his parents in Richmond on Monday, May 29th, 1893, at 6 o’clock, p.m., Ralph Elmore, the sixteen months old son of Rev. and Mrs. J.E. Petty, after lingering several days from an attack of brain fever. Once more death has visited our town and claimed another little one, this time a bright eyed little boy whose tender footsteps and prattling voice had grown to be music to the ears of his fond and loving parents. Only a few days ago his cheeks bloomed with health and vigor and his eyes sparkled with childish innocence and joy, but disease came and took the bloom from his cheek and the sparkle from his eye, then came death and cut the brittle cord and the young spirit took its flight into the world where angels dwell, and where it will await the coming of loved ones left behind. Funeral services were held at the residence on south Camden Avenue Tuesday afternoon at four o’clock by Dr. G.L. Black of Liberty at the conclusion of which the body was taken to the city cemetery and peacefully laid away. The family has our warmest condolence in the hour of sorrow and affliction. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
