Mrs. Hettie Rader, widow of the late Derrick Rader, died at her home near Rockingham last Wednesday morning, January 5 following a brief illness with pneumonia fever. Deceased was a native Rockingham county, Virginia, and was born September 12, 1841, thus she was 74 years, 3 months, 23 days of age when the summons came. After her marriage she came with her husband to Missouri and settled in Ray county and has been resident of this county more than 40 years. This family is well known and numbered among our best people. She was the mother of seven children, four sons and three daughters, viz: Richard, of Ft. Madison, Ia., Myers, of Okla. and Robert and Leslie of this county, Miss Mary, who lives at home, Mrs. Joseph Hill of Carroll county, and Mrs. Andrew Butler of Carrollton. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. David Hawkins, of Norborne, and a brother, David Myers, of near Rockingham. Her funeral and burial occurred Friday morning at Mount Olive church.
