Last Saturday morning between five and six o’clock, Mrs. John E. Roark died at her home in Richmond of inflammation of the stomach and bowels. She had been sick from an attack of malarial fever for some days, but it was not thought by her attending physician that she was in any special danger, and her sudden death was a surprise to all. Mr. and Mrs. Roark came to Richmond almost a years ago purchasing a residence on east Main street where they have since resided. The deceased was industrious and economical and was of valuable assistance to her husband in fighting the battles of life. by her kind and social qualities she had endeared herself to her neighbors and friends who deeply mourn her sudden death. She had just reached the period of life where her influence for good could be felt and her hand was ever ready to do deeds of kindness. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday morning at nine o’clock, by Elder Bosworth of the Christian church, after which the remains were taken to South Point cemetery near Orrick, for interment. The bereaved husband whose heart is almost overcome, because of his irreparable loss, and other sorrowing relatives of the deceased have the deepest sympathy of our entire community in the death of one so dear to them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
