Richmond Missourian, Richmond, Ray County, Missouri; Front Page com. obit: Rayville Woman Dead. Mrs. Nancy R. Swafford Died at the Home of Her Son, William, on Monday. Mrs. Nancy R. Swafford, the widow of the late John Swafford, died at the home of her son William, 2 miles east of Rayville, Monday afternoon, January 17, 1916, at the age of 77 years, following a short illness. Mrs. Swafford was born at Cleveland, Tenn., June 28, 1838. She came to Missouri with her husband in the early forties and has spent a greater portion of her life in the vicinity of Rayville. She had been the mother of thirteen children, nine of whom are living. Mr. Swafford died about eight years ago. Mrs. Martha Heath of the National Hotel and Mrs. William Lee of Richmond are daughters of Mrs. Swafford. The subject of this sketch was converted in her native state in early childhood and united with the Christian denomination, and lived in the faith of her Master until she answered her last summons on Monday. The funeral services were held at 11 o’clock yesterday morning at the home of the son, with whom she had lived for several years.
