February 6, 1920 Source: Richmond Missourian, Thurs., Feb. 12, 1920 issue, on microfilm @ Ray County Library, Richmond "Death of Mrs. Mary Smeed - Mrs. Mary Smeed, who had been a resident of this city for over thirty years, died at her home in Richmond, Friday. Mrs. Smeed was a native of Illinois, and was in her sixty-fourth year when death occurred. She is survived by one son, Horace Parks, president of the local miner's union, and four daughters, Mrs. George Neal, Mrs. Alice Hotchkiss and Mrs. Edna Clay of Richmond, and Mrs. Daisy West of Lexington. The funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon by Rev. F. L. Alexander.
