Ray County, Missouri Obituaries - James Elvin Taylor James Elvin Taylor, 82, of Excelsior Springs, died Friday at the home. He was born in Orrick, Mo., and had lived in this area since 1962. He was a farmer before he retired. He was a member of the Excelsior Springs Jehovah's Witnesses. Mr. Taylor was an Army veteran of World War I. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Millie Taylor of the home; four sons, Jerry Taylor, Kingston, Mo.; John Taylor, 7957 N.E. 56th; and Donald Taylor and Danny Taylor, both of Lawson, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Lorene Scott, 514 S. Hedges, Independence; Mrs. Angela Drew, Keytesville, Mo., and Mrs. Billie Marie Morgan, 411 Dickinson Road, Independence; a brother, Virgil Taylor, Orrick; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Gowing Chapel, Excelsior Springs; burial in South Point Cemetery, near Orrick. The family suggests contributions to the Excelsior Springs Jehovah's Witnesses. Another obituary for James E. Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 20, 1895, at Orrick, the son of Jeremiah and Angerona (Taylor) Taylor. He had lived in Excelsior Springs since 1962. Mr. Taylor was a farmer before he retired in 1962. He was an elder in the Jehovah's Witnesses Church here. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Mr. Taylor was married to Mildred Hall of Orrick on Sept. 21, 1921 in Liberty. He leaves his wife of the home; four sons, Virgil J. Taylor, Kingston, Andrew Taylor, Kansas City, Gene Taylor and Franklin Taylor, Lawson; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Scott, Independence, Mrs. Jeanette Drew, Kaytesville (sic Keytesville), and Mrs. Billie Morgan, Independence; a brother Aron Taylor, Orrick; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A daughter and a sister preceded him in death. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Gowing Chapel here with Brother David Essig officiating. Burial wa! s in South Point Cemetery, Orrick. On September 21, 1921, John (sic James) was married to Mildred (Hall) Taylor of Orrick, Missouri. She survives at the Home. Four Sons Virgil J. Taylor of Kingston, Mo., John A. Taylor of Kansas City, Mo., Donald G. Taylor of Lawson, Mo., Danny f. Taylor of Lawson, Mo. Three Daughters, Mrs. Evelyn L. Scott of Independence, Mo., Mrs. Angela J. Drew of Keytesville, Mo., Mrs. Billie M. Morgan of Indepedence, Mo. One Brother Aron V. Taylor of Orrick, Mo. There are 16 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Florence A. Shanks, one daughter, Bobbie R. Phelps and one grandson David Drew. It was the family desire that the funeral service for Mr. Tyalor be held at 1:30 PM Monday at the Gowing Chapel with Brother David Essig officiating. Musical selections given by Mrs. Hazel Duxbury.
