Ray County, Missouri Obituaries - White, Jos. A. d. date b. d. cem. nee: pd. p. Ray County Conservator obit: Died of Paralysis Last Sunday evening news reached our city announcing that the dead body of Jos. A. White had been found on the premises of Pleas McKnight, ten miles northwest of Richmond. The deceased was somewhere in the sixties and was very feeble, and the first announcement of his death created no unusual suspicion, but later it was reported that the body had several bruises on it and Coroner Hill was notified of the fact. On Monday morning in company with R.K. Green, Constable, the Coroner proceeded to the residence of Mr. McKnight, where an inquest was held on the body. The evidence before the Coroner’s jury was to the effect that White had had a stroke of paralysis some time ago, and that he also frequently had spells of choking that would almost result in death, and no marks of violence being found on the body the jury returned a verdict that the deceased came to his death from unknown causes. The deceased was well known to the people, once residing with J.C. Cates, of near Richmond, and was known as Alex. White. He had for many years been in destitute circumstances, and had recently made his home with Pleasant McKnight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jenna Zunker USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
