He married Elizabeth Douglass, and they had ten children: John, Richard, Thomas, William, Nathan, Joanna, Nancy, Polly, Elizabeth and Ignatius. William married Nancy Combs, daughter of Ennis Combs and Margaret Rousseau, and settled in St. Charles County, MO., in 1835. He served in the War of 1812.
