St. Charles County, Missouri Deeds - Coonce, Williams, Votaw Deed Record H-pages 337-338 – St. Charles County, Missouri Know all men by these presents, that we, John Votaw and Polly Votaw his wife (formerly Polly Coonce, and Landon Williams, and Elizabeth Williams his wife (formerly Elizabeth Coonce) being the legal heirs and Representatives of John Coonce deceased within named; of the County of Jefferson and State of Mipouri; for and in consideration of the Sum of Four hundred Dollars, good and Samful money, to us in hand paid, by Phillip Coonce, of the City of St. Louis & State of Moipouri, the receipt whereof is hereby Conferred & acknowledge hath granted, bargained, sold, conveyed & confirmed, and by these presents a grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirms unto the said Phillip Coonce, parties of the second part, and to his heirs and apigns forever, all our right, claim, interest, and demand, of, in, and to the within named and described premises, being the equal undivided half of five hundred and ten acres and forty one hundredths of an acres, reference being had to the within Patent will more fully and at Large appear, To Have and To Hold, the above within, described premises, particularly mentioned and described, together with all and singular the hereditiments, and appurtenances, thereunto belong or in any wise appertaining, and the nevesion & erevsions, remainder and remainders, rents, ipues, and proffits arising there from, unto the said Phillip Coonce, his heirs, and apigns forever, And the said Parties of the first part, for themselves, their heirs, Executors, Administrators, and apigns, do covenant, promise, and agree to and with the said party of the second part and his apigns, that they will forever warrant and defend the said described premises, against the Sawful claims, and demands of all every person or persons, claiming, or to Claim the same or any part thereof forever. In testimony whereof the said parties of the first part, have hereunto subscribed their names, and affixed their seals; the twenty eighth day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand, eight hundred and twenty six-signed sealed and delivered John Votaw seal in the presence of Polly Votaw seal his Landon X Williams seal mark her Elizabeth X Williams seal mark State of Mipouri County of Jefferson Be it remembered, that on this twenty eighth day of March, in the Year of our Lord, eighteen hundred and twenty six, before me a justice of the peace, within and for the County of aforesaid, personally came John Votaw, Polly Votaw, Landon Williams, & Elizabeth Williams, all personally known to me to be the persons whose names, are subscribed, to the foregoing instrument aforementioned as having executed the same, and severally acknowledged the same to be their act and deed, for the purposes therein mentioned, they, the said Polly, & Elizabeth, being by me first made acquainted, with the contents thereof, and examined separate and apart from their husbands whether they executed the said Deed, and relinquish their dower, to the Lands and tenements therein mentioned voluntarily, freely and without compulsion or under influence of their husbands, acknowledged and declared that they executed the said Deed, and relinquishes their dower in the said Lands and tenements therein mentioned, voluntarily, freely and without compulsion or undue influence of their husbands, taken & certified the day and year aforesaid Young Guffy Justice of the Peace This deed is written on the back of the patent-In this Deed, in the acknowledgement, the word "bond" part of the word "remembered" interfered Filed 3rd November 1828 & Recorded the 12th of Dec. 1828 Wm Christy Jr. Ex.
