George home, while on her way to Osceola High School. Lon Howerton is planning of farming on a larger scale this year, he has rented a farm West of Lowry City, which he will soon be moving to and has bought a new Farm Tractor and the necessary equipment for his tractor. Seems like the scarcity of feed this winter would just about cause everyone to want to raise all the feed possible this year instead of reducing the acreage. PLEASANT GROVE: Mrs. Pete Simmons was shopping in Taberville Saturday. We had another hard rain Monday. We are certainly glad to see the ground get wet again. Mrs. Della Masterson of Taberville, passed away a week ago last Thursday and was laid to rest in the Taberville Cemetery, a week ago last Friday. She leaves two sons, T. O. of Kansas City, and Elton of Okla. and one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Disney of near Taberville and several grandchildren. The friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. George Cole gave them a farewell party last Friday night as Mr. Cole and wife intends to move down near El Dorado. La-Ura Ethridge spent the weekend with her parents, Jim Ethridge and wife. Anna Kaufman spent the week end with her mother in Schell City. Jim Ethridge called on Lenard Welch Sunday morning. Mrs. Dale Harleman is staying with her sister-in-law Mrs. Everett Hays while Mr. Hays is in Kansas City. Rawleigh Reed and Wash Evans called at the Tom Jones home Sunday morning. LONG RIDGE: We are enjoying fine winter weather at present. Frank Miller and family of Willard, spent Saturday and Sunday in the home of his parents, J. F. Miller and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis are rejoicing over the arrival of a new daughter, the little Miss has been named Ellen. John Stephens was called to Preston last week by the serious illness of his brother George who we understand passed away Friday night. We are sorry to learn of his death. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hodges and daughter, and Floyd Harden, Roy Estes and Paul Green spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Mose Simms and Mrs. Mollie DeLozier. Mr. and Mrs. Herman T. Yaden spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Bishop. Mrs. John Estes had the misfortune to fall Saturday afternoon and hurt her knee and is unable to walk. Harvey Todd, Jack Kerlin, Gilvert Hodges, Joe and Paul Green cut wood for the King's Prairie Sunday School Monday morning of this week. Most Simms wishes to thank the men folks of this neighborhood who helped to cut, haul and saw wood for him. We are glad to report his hand almost well. PRAIRIE HOME: The community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of Bob Kelley, only merchant at Monegaw. Mr. Kelley will surely be missed by the people in Monegaw and surrounding neighborhood. The funeral was preached Friday afternoon by Bro. Kirkland, burial at Benton Green Cemetery. Prairie Home Ladies Aid Society, met with Mrs. Nova Shoemaker Jaunary 2. All members were present but four. We especially missed Tamer Grass because she never fails to attend unless in case of sickness. The day was spent quilting. Mrs. Shoemaker served a lovely dinner at the noon hour of which all enjoyed. The Aid will meet with Mrs. L. O. Capps January 30. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grass and family spent Sunday with the W. E. Moore family. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Reed from near Appleton visited Mrs. Reed's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Bledsoe Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. B. Higgins and baby spent Sunday with the A. M. Hopkins family. Bro. Capps filled his regular appoointment at Prairie Home Sunday night. Even tho he had to fight bad roads there was a very large attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dains and baby spent Sunday with Mr. Dains' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brit Dains. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jones and baby were visitors in the L. O. Capps home Sunday. We missed your items last week, Hogles Creek. We hope its not tooth ache again. We always look for your items as we surely enjoy them. W. E.
