Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Carroll and Marian, the Rev. and Mrs. Skaggs, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Carroll and family, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Kaufman of Kansas City and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carroll of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. John Sherman and two daughters of Lowry City and the two Misses Sherman who work in Kansas City, Patty Sue Carroll and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Cripe and sons. A Baby Girl Announcements have been received here this week of birth of a baby daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Omer Robinson of Kansas City. Their oldest little daughter has been here with her father's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. (Yank) Robinson since Christmas. The baby is their third daughter. OHIO: Fred Kast was taken to Ellett hospital Saturday as he has pneumonia. We hope for him speedy recovery. Dorman Prior and wife are the proud parents of a baby girl born February 3. Both baby and mother are doing nicely. Pug Akers and wife spent Sunday in the Fred Kast home. In the afternoon all went to the hospital to see Mr. Kast. Kidd Chapel Aid met with Murle Knight Wednesday, did some work for the hostess. Next meeting will be with Wilma Murphy. Ed Huey and wife, Colie Edwards and wife spent Sunday in the Howard Huey home to help Howard celebrate his birthday. Short Long and family spent Sunday in the Dutch Long home. Colie Edwards and wife, Dick Cooper and Alf Wickerett called in the Joe Beiser home Saturday evening. Mr. Bieser is improving. Mrs. Sam Prior helped care for the new granddaughter in the Dorman Prior home. Dale Cooper spent Saturday night and Sunday in the Randall Shoemaker home. Forest Cooper spent Saturday in the same home. Damon Park and Dick Cooper have been callers in the Colie Edwards home. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Simms and son also Jiggs Prior called in the Dorman Prior and Sam Prior homes Sunday. TIFFIN NEWS: Orval Peerie has reentered the Ellitt hospital. He had apparently recovered from an operation and went home on Friday. Sunday he became ill and he was taken to the hospital again. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bruce had as visitors Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Tom King and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bruce. John Mentzer is quite ill with pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter and Alene spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ora Coleman and family. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Brackenridge and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Abbott and son were Sunday guests in the Molly Brackenridge home. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Akers and children from Kansas City spent the weekend at their farm. Mr. Carlson went to Kansas City the first of this week. Roy Cameron filled the pulpit Sunday both morning and night. During the evening he attended a wedding at El Dorado. Mr. and Mrs. John Mogan [sic] and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Will Whitley and Nellie were at the Bud Whitley home Sunday. Callers in the Flem Bruce home Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. George Bruce and Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Slagle. Mrs. John Lewis of Route 2 has been critically ill with ptomane poisoning. She was taken to the Clinton hospital Friday morning and stayed until Monday. She is improving nicely. Mrs. Marcus Meadows of Dallas and her brother from the state of Washington are here visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Murray and their sister Mrs. Riley Winna and family. Mrs. Violet Sitton fell last week and severely sprained her right arm. She is back at work in the post office after an absence of several days but her arm is still in a sling. Mrs. Roy L. (Fat) Calvird [sic] has been brought home from the hospital in Springfield and is getting along satisfactorily. An operation will be necessary later it is believed. Dr. and Mrs. Lee Johnston spent Monday in Kansas City. Mr. and Mrs. Sol Wenner who have been visiting in California have started home and are expected by the last of this week. Elmert Zeiler, who has been in the Mitchell hospital at Excelsior Springs the past two weeks is recovering nicely and is expected home in a few days. PRAIRIE HOME: Club met with Mrs. Burr Shoemaker with all members present but one. Mrs. Shoemaker served a delicious covered dish lunch at noon which was enjoyed by all. The day was spent quilting. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Lewis Motley. Mrs. Willie Marshall is very sick at this writing. She is at Apleton close to her doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Amp Hopkins and son called in the Lewis Motley home Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Coleman and son called in the Lewis Motley home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Motley attended the Howard Bunch sale Monday.
