Mrs. Elizabeth Mabry has moved to the Elm Springs neighborhood. Mrs. Mollie Taylor put up a yard fence last week. Eddie Nevitt and wife of Roscoe spent the weekend in Collins. Mrs. Laurea Follin and Josephine made a trip to Humansville Saturday. Mrs. Lowry Belisle, who has been on the sick list, is reported improving. Grant Francis and wife of Springfield, visited Mrs. Mollie Taylor Sunday afternoon. Clinton Ross Moore of Humansville spent the weekend with Wingfred Hedrick. Margaret Gross is visiting her sister, Mrs. Lawrence Cutler. Mrs. Belle Davis of Fresno, California arrived Sunday to visist her sister, Mrs. Ann Murphy. Violet Durfee and baby son, of Walnut Grove are visiting her parents, J. W. Jennings and wife. John Scott and family of Clinton were Sunday guests in the home of his sister, Mrs. Ada Landaker. Mr. Daniel is visiting in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Black. He recently returned from California where he spent the winter. Mrs. W. S. Birdsong, of Weaubleau spent the weekend in the L. D. Birdsong home. O. E. Simms and family of Versailles were in Collins Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Baldwin returned Friday from Kansas City with an encouraging report of his health and he is feeling better. Mr. and Mrs. Lincicum and baby, of Osceola visited Sunday with her parents, Walter Tucker and wife. H. D. Miller and four children of Lees Summitt were here for Old Folks Day and stayed Sunday night in the Follin home. Chas. Bishop adn family of Lees Summitt were here Sunday. Mrs. Julia Mason who was ill last week was able to be up Saturday, but suffered a relapse and the doctor was called Monday. W. A. Edwards adn Miss Kathleen Sitton motored down from Kansas City Sunday. He went back that evening, but she remained for several days visit with relatives. Mrs. Etta Butcher of Osceola attended the Sunday service and called to see the writer of these items. Time has seemingly passed by her, for she is as youthful appearing and pretty as she was when a resident of Collins and that has been several years ago. Those from here attending the high school graduation exercises at Osceola Friday night were, Woodrow Rosecrans, Madell Smith, Elva Selvidge, Mrs. Neta Smith, Mrs. Edith Taylor. Two of the graduates had been students in the Collins school, Ruby Gardner and Claudine Simms. Thos. Tucker and family of Osceola visited with Nelie Tucker Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Edith Taylor has recently erected two cabins on highway 51, and they are now ready for occupancy. PRAIRIE HOME: Mrs. Alfred Grass and daughter, Mary Alice, Mrs. Will Moore, Mrs. Boyd Pace and daughter Leilla Mae and Mrs. Claude Coleman and son spent an enjoyable day at the Monegaw school, which was the last day of this term. Jaems Bowden has been ill for several days but is better at this writing. Amp Hopkins and family visited in the Will Moore home Sunday evening. Mrs. Burt Dains is not feeling so well. She was to see Dr. Elliott and a Dr. in Humansville last week. Mrs. Lewis Moteley spent one afternoon last week visiting Mrs. Dale Moteley. Several people are attending the meeting in Monegaw Springs. May the 15th being Mrs. R. D. Winchester's birthday several of her friends and neighbors gave her a surprise dinner Sunday. At the noon hour there was a long table made on the lawn under a locust tree which was filled with very beautiful appetizing food. Those that were present were Mr. and Mrs. Amp Hopkins, James Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. Warner Allinson, Mr. and Mrs. Arch CArroll, Mr. and Mrs. James Stevens, Mrs. Ralph Allis and little daughter, Mrs. Brock, Robert Allinson, Mr. and Mrs. Will Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grass, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Pace, Billie Lee and Virginia Dell Mistler, Mary Alice and Vernon Grass, James William Hopkins, Lelia Mae Pace, Mrs. R. D. Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Burr Shoemaker, Leo Shoemaker, Pearl Casey. The ladies spent the afternoon visiting and the men entertained themselves playing horseshoes, also during the afternoon little Mary Alice Gross sang a very beautiful song and Warner Allinson played the guitar. Miss Elizabeth Hopkins, Daisy and Marion Grace Bourland have been to the beauty shop in Appleton City. Mrs. D. D. Tally and children visited Saturday evening with her daughter, Mrs. Lucas Bishop and Mr. Bishop of Collins and spent Sunday in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Baker of El Dorado. Mrs. Mary Helen Puidk [sic] of Collins, Mrs. Mary Kauffman of Kansas City and brother, Billy Foote were callers at the C. E. George place Saturday evening. The two latter accompanied the former home to spend the night. Mrs. Della Stubbs spent several days last week in the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Reynolds and Mr. Reynolds. Thomas Lowry surprised his wife Tuesday by presenting her a new washing machine, here's hoping others follow this plan. The post office building was all dolled up last week in a new coat of red paint by Will Freeman and adds very much to appearance. Thomas Lowry took his bus load of school pupils on a weiner roast Thursday night down on Weaubleau creek. Mrs. Ted Sink of near Collins spent Tuesday in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Lawler. Mr. and Mrs. Fulwider, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Kauffman of Kansas City were weekend guests in the home of the ladies parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Foote. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Foote and daughter, Mary Louise of Kansas City spent the weekend in the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Foote and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Whiting, respectively. Frank Whitink and son Bobby and Junior Gordon were transacting business in Taberville Tuesday. Mrs. D. D. Tally received a message from her husband, the Rev. D. D. Tally, from California saying tht he had been called as pastor for the church at Langar, California and will come for her and children next week. She is planning on a public sale on or near the 28 of this month and they will leave soon for California. We most certainly hate to lose this fine family from our community as their places will be hard to fill in church and Sunday school work, and they will be greatly missed. Mr. and Mrs. Will George of Humansville were Sunday afternoon visitors with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. George. Other callers in this home the same day were Mr. and Mrs. Friday McKinley of Oyer, Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Stiles and sister, Miss Mabel Stiles and Mrs. Edna Bush all from Kansas City. Mrs. Irene Cleveland, who has been a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Daniel left Wednesday for a visit in Kansas City before returning to her home in Rossville, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Mahoney plan to move Thursday morning to the Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Gates residence. Mr. Mahoney is Assistant Resident Engineer Inspector on the school house addition project. Mrs. Herman Frances of Roscoe was attending to business in Osceola Tuesday. W. D. Knoll and Johnnie Allbright went to Keetsville Wednesday to spend several days. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Welborn moved Wednesday to Nevada. BRADFORD ITEMS: Mrs. Ruther Duvall called at the H. C. Foote home Monday evening. Mrs. Ruth Pitt, Mrs. Della Marchant, and Leo Pitt of Kansas City adn Mrs. Ed Lane of Osceola, Will Pitt of Appleton City, Mr. and Mrs. G. Fairman of Osceola were callers at Frank Lane's Tuesday. Mrs. Buddy Fulwider, Billy Foote and Mrs. Ruth Duvan called at the Frank Lane home Monday evening. C. O. and Geo. Tawney caught several nice fish one day last week. A good rain fell in this vicinity Tuesday night. Minnie and Eunice Roeder cleaned house for Mrs. E. Perkins last week. Bill and Chelse Pease of Olathe, Kansas spent Friday afternoon in the C. O. Tawney home. Mrs. E. Perkins and grandson, Kenneth Perkins drove to Springfield Tuesday on a business mission. Mrs. Buddy Fulwider of Kansas City is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Foote. Mr. and Mrs. Broadus of Kansas City were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Booth. L. M. Monsees of Smithton and Glen Mertgens of near Sedalia were callers at the Frank Lane home Saturday. Mrs. T. M. Johnson who has spent the past two weeks in Kansas City returned Wednesday accompanied by Mrs. W. T. Johnson and Mrs. Mary Bland, who were luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. L.
