Their 49 years of marriage provided a foundation of Love for their four children and twelve grandchildren to build upon. Wilma spent her life nurturing her children's growth and happiness and, in turn, filled the role of grandmother with the same passion. Her life was filled with two generations of school programs, recitals and ball games, always there to inspire her children and grandchildren. It was with her love and hard work that the holidays, which we all cherished, were filled with tradition and joy. Words cannot express the love and devotion she gave to her family. We can only pray that she found solace in the outpouring of love from her family and friends in her final days. He then served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a Cryptographer and envoy, finishing his tour of duty enjoying his work at the military museum at Fort Leavenworth. Shortly thereafter he became employed at the U.S. Postal Service where he served as a letter carrier retiring two years ago after 30 years of service at the Martin City station and previously at the Gladstone, Parkville, Westport, Troost and North Kansas City stations where he was affectionately known as "The Giant Mailman." He loved all his friends, Bill, Dave, Greg, Stock, Joe (Yuk-Yuk), Frank, Dennis, Barry with whom he shared his super bowl/poker game parties and his river float trips. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Frank, his stepmother, Mina V. Corsiglia, and his son, Stephan Gerald. The Ellises lived in the Raytown area for many years while Frank worked for Armco Steel. They loved to travel and were actively involved with the Shriners and the American Legion. Mrs. Ellis was best known for her cooking and baking abilities and she spent many hours sewing detailed doll clothes for her many nieces. She loved crossword puzzles and was very well read. Tom was an unconventional pastor and colorful personality, a blessing to his family, friends, and someone who glorified God in his daily life. She was married to William Quentin Kehr for 57 years. She was the sweetest kindest lady we ever knew. She was the quiet strength and shining example to us all. Our anguish at her passing is tempered only by the joy we know she has at rejoining her husband, parents, and brother in the true home she never quite fully left at any time in her mortal life. Hazel lived a long and full life. She was always an unflinching supporter of her husband Bill, and as a housewife was devoted to the loving upbringing of her children. He was employed by Fleming Foods in Kansas City and retired in 1995 after 311/2 years of service. Emmett enjoyed tractor shows, parades, and restoring antique tractors. His favorite pastimes were visiting, eating, laughter, and dancing. Sister Francetta O'Donnell - Sister Francetta O'Donnell, 92, a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth, formerly a teacher, principal and College Admission Director, died at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Ross Hall, Mother House, Leavenworth, KS. She was to have celebrated her 70th year as a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth at the Mother House on Saturday, April 24, 2004. Mary O'Donnell was born on May 1, 1911, in Denver, CO, one of three children of Francis and Myrtle S. Graham O'Donnell. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Denver, CO. She entered the religious community of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth on September 6, 1934, and as Sister Francetta, made her profession of vows on March 11, 1936. After profession, Sister was missioned in KS to Blessed Sacrament School and Bishop Ward High School, Kansas City; in MT to Girls Central High School, Butte, St. Patrick's High School and Central High School, Billings; and as teacher and principal at Bishop Hogan High School, Kansas City, MO. She served at the University of Saint Mary, Leavenworth and received the title as the first Director of Admissions from 1963-1976. From 1977-1980, she continued her service at the University as Assistant Director of Admission. A former high school student wrote that when Sister Francetta served as principal, he said that she was a principal of wisdom, understanding, fortitude, knowledge, piety and fear of no student. She was little but mighty! In 1980, Sister Francetta was missioned to the Community Treasurer's Office at the Mother House where she served as SCL Property Curator. She resided in Mead Hall at the University of Saint Mary until she retired to Ross Hall, December 1999. Sister received a B.A. in History and French from Loretto Heights College, Denver, CO, an M.A. in History from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI. Other institutions she attended were Creighton University, Fordham University, Rockhurst College, Avila College and University of Missouri, Kansas City. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mrs. Joseph Pych, Okemos, MI; nephews, Dr. R.S. O'Donnell, Englewood, CO, and Frank O'Donnell, Colorado Springs, CO; a niece, Mrs. Bryan Buikema, Georgetown, MI; and cousins. Her parents were Robert F. and Ota Chambers Tasker. She is survived by her daughters Karen Johnson and Gail Holly, and her five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Fran attended Stephen's College and then the University of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lorenz Ordelheide of 32 years, and her second husband Richard Opel of 22 years, her parents Robert and Ota, and her brother Robert. Fran was a council member as well as Director of the Girl Scout Summer Camp in Prairie Village, KS. After his discharge, he returned to Kansas City. He became a fire fighter with the Kansas City Fire Department in October 1963, and retired from them in October 1988. After retirement, he moved to his home near Warsaw. He was a life member of the VFW and American Legion Post #217 of Warsaw. He was also a member of Local #42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters. She was the wife of the late Merton C. Radloff, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in 1910, on a farm in Basehor, KS, she was the daughter of the late James Harvey and Caroline Green. She graduated from high school in Kansas City, KS, where she lived with her grandmother so she could attend a city school. During the depression, she moved east to join her husband who had found a job at Sun Oil Co. They lived in Ridley Park, then moved to Chadds Ford, where they raised their children and were members of Brandywine Baptist Church. Dorothy worked as a secretary at Oakbourne Hospital prior to its closing. For the past 40 years, she had been a resident of West Chester where she was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She is survived by daughter, Marilyn Maxwell of Downingtown; grandchildren, Kim Dietrich, Sott Pratt, Eric Radloff and twins, Holly Radloff and Heather Radloff; and three greatgrandchildren, Ian and Lucie Dorothy Dietrich and Rachael Radloff. She is also survived by an older sister, Ruth Hammond of Kansas City, KS. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, M. Ronald Radloff. He also served as Assistant Pastor under the pastorate of the late Rev. I.H. Henderson, Jr. He was currently pastor of Mt. Transfiguration Missionary Baptist Church. He was the former president of the Baptist Ministers Union, a life member of the NAACP, and was a veteran of the United States Army. Rev. Reynolds was united in marriage to Myrtle Harris on November 1, 1941, and celebrated 60 years of marriage; she preceded him in death in 2002. He leaves one son, Harold O. As a boy, he worked on farms, earning extra money for his parents. He hunted game for food. He attended the Kansas City Barber College, and returned to Lincoln to work in a barbershop. In 1922, he met a Mr. Butler while in the barbershop. Mr. Butler operated Mother Butler's restaurant in Kansas City, KS, and asked Bill to come there for a job. Bill accepted. In Kansas City, he met and married Mary Meditz in 1925. With their son, William "Dutch" Rohning, they eventually owned and operated the restaurant until 1963. Bill suffered a stroke in 1963, retired from the restaurant, and maintained a home in K.C., KS, with his wife until 1998. He has resided at the Edwardsville Convalescent home since 1998. His granddaughter, Beth, was very close to her grandfather. Herbert Glenn Wolfe - Graveside inurnment services for Herbert Glen(n) Wolf(e), 76, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, KS, followed by a Celebration of Life. Visitation 11 a.m. at the Malott Room at the University of Kansas Union on the 6th floor. Mr. Wolfe died Monday, April 19, 2004, at his home in Lawrence. He was a resident of Lawrence since 1956. He was born March 14, 1928, near Uniontown, KS, in Bourbon County. His father was Herbert Clark Wolf and his mother Ivy May (Iva Marie) Ramsey. They were married February 23, 1927, in Ft. Scott, KS. Both are buried in Uniontown Cemetery, Uniontown, KS. Glenn attended Fort Scott Junior College and graduated from Yakima Valley Public Junior College, 1947, and from Kansas State College, Manhattan, with a Bachelor of Science in 1949. After two years teaching at Easton High School and five years of employment by the Department of the Army, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, he attended the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and received a Ph.D. In Genetics in 1960. In Fall 1960, they moved to Bar Harbor, ME, where Glenn was Associate Staff Scientist at the Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, ME. In 1963, the family moved back to Lawrence, KS. Glenn was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas, and retired from there as Professor of Physiology and Cell Biology in 1994. During his career, Glenn was the author of more than 35 scientific articles and contributed chapters to two books. He taught and did genetic and biomedical research at the University of Kansas for 31 years. He was elected to Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa and Society of Sigma Xi. He was a member of several scientific societies, including Genetics Society of America and Society for Developmental Biology. He was a visiting scientist at the Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, ME, the Worchester Foundation for Experimental Biology, Shrewsbury, MA, and was a National Institutes of Health Senior Fellow at the MRC Radiology Unit, Harwell, England. Following retirement, he compiled two family histories (Wolf & Ramsey) and two unpublished manuscripts coauthored with his daughter Cynthia (Cheasbro & Walter). He married Betty Maxine Cheasbro on June 4, 1950, in Baldwin City, KS. She was born October 8, 1927, in Olathe, KS, the daughter of Vernon Byron Cheasbro and Susan Belle (Walter) Cheasbro. She preceded him in death May 27, 1996. He is survived by son Richard Charles Wolfe, Lawrence, KS; two daughters, Cynthia Marie (Wolfe) Preston, Overland Park, KS, Pamela Sue Wolfe, State College, PA; brother Wayne Lee Wolf, Leavenworth, KS; sister Cleta Maxine (Wolf) Van Horn, Gainesville, FL; and five grandchildren, Tara Kay Wolfe, Seattle, WA, Laura Ann Wolfe, Lawrence, KS, Ryan Matthew Preston, Overland Park, KS, Ethan Atanasoff Wolfe, State College, PA, and Emma Atanasoff Wolfe, State College, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Douglas County and may be sent in care of Warren- McElwain Mortuary, 785-843-1120.
