CHARLEVILLE, 93, Succumbs Sunday Clovis J. Charleville, 93, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Berney Jackson of Route 1, Festus, at 6:35 a.m. Sunday, May 11, after an illness of one week. He had been making his home with the Jacksons for some time. Born at Bloosdale, Mo., on Feb. 13, 1854, he worked in that community as a farmer for many years. He was united in marriage to Miss Alpha Billie on July 18th, 1898, and to this union two children were born. The boy died in infancy while his daughter, Mrs. Bernard Allgire, survives. Mr. Charleville came to Crystal City forty years ago and was employed at the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company for 24 years. Besides his daughter, he is survived by nine grandchildren: Mrs. Rose Jackson and Anna Lee Becker, Festus, Rt. 1; Wilburn, Chester, Billie, and Miss Marcella Allgire, all of Festus; Mrs. Opal Adams and Shirley Wilson of St. Louis, and Mrs. Bonnie Goldstein of East St. Louis, Ill. He also leaves eight great-grandchildren. The body lay in state at the Politte Funeral Home until Wednesday morning when funeral services were conducted at the Sacred Heart Church at nine O'clock, with Burial in the Catholic cemetery.
