The family was absent except a lady sixty-four years of age named Darota Henson, and a boy. As one of the villians was in the act of drawing the trunk from beneath the bed the old lady seized and held him; he drew a knife and inflicted a severe wound upon her person, then turned upon the boy and stabbed him in the left breast severely, but not mortally. The thief then left the house, and the boy shortly after went to a neighbor's for assistance; on the return of the boy and the neighbors, they found the old lady dead, with her throat cut from ear to ear, and the money gone. The reports are conflicting with regard to the amount of money obtained by the murderers -- some say but six, and some say three hundred and seventy-five dollars were taken. The villains are not known. -- St. Louis Union File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mo/stlouis/newspapers/brutalmu190gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/mofiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
