Obituary, St. Louis, MO - Henry J. Moore In an abstract of a newspaper "The Auburn Daily Bulletin,", Auburn, N.Y., (Cayuga Co.) Tuesday, February 16, 1875 is found the following: "DIED: "The St. Louis Democrat" of Thursday last, contains the announcement of the death of Captain Henry J. MOORE, formerly of this County (Cayuga Co., N.Y.) and brother-in-law of Seymour DUNNING. Moore resided on 1503 Chouteau Ave., in St. Louis, was one of the oldest citizens of the city and one of the most prominent businessmen. He was born in Cayuga Co., N.Y. in 1802. He leaves a widow and one daughter the wife of Major William S. POPE of the St. Louis Bar. Capt. Moore was a successful River Boat owner and commander." I am writing from the History Room of the Seymour Library, 176 Genesee St., Auburn, N.Y. (Cayuga Co.) This is just the kind of obituary notice that our Cayuga Co. GenWeb likes to have printed and I have entered it there as well, but thought to share it with you as the man is probably buried in St. Louis. There are other Henry Moore's buried here but on different death dates. It might be useful for genealogical purposes. The Dunning family is prominently researched here as well. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
