The Hannibal Journal, Thursday, March 1, 1849
DIED
At Saint Louis, on Wednesday morning 21st ultimo, Mrs. Eliza Ann Purcell, a 
native of Connecticutt and daughter of the late Hon. Nathan Smith.

The rather lengthy obit also mentioned:
Two daughters were only surviving children.
She followed her newly married daughter from Connecticutt to the place she 
died.

Additional Comments:
Daughter and other child were not named.
