Husbands love your Wives, even as Christ also loved the Church, and gave 
himself for it. Eph. V. 25. Wives, Submit yourselves, unto your own husbands, 
as it is fit unto the lord, Col. iii. 18. Marriage Certificate. This is to 
certify that after due inquiry having been made, and there appearing to me no 
legal impediment, by reason of age, affinity, consanguinity [Ge?], for bidding 
the same, I, William Paul Quinn of the State of Missouri, and City of Saint 
Louis, of the = were in the presence of Credible witnesses, with their own 
voluntary consent, joined together, as husband and Wife, in holy Matrimony, in 
the City of Saint Louis on the 20th day of February, in the year of our Lord 
One thousand and Eight hundred and 45. Thomas Boyd and Emeline [Tennig? Ternig? 
Tenniy?] and by me William Paul Quinn. In the presence of Bishop of the African 
Methodist Episcopal Church.
