She was born Aug. 30, 1896, in Peebles, Ohio. Survivors include two daughters, EDNA TROTTER of Dexter and AGNES HUNT of Carlinville, Ill.; and eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation Begins at 5 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. MARION GIPSON  will officiate, with burial in Dexter Cemetery. Mrs. MAULDING had been in poor health for some time. She was born in Gallatin County, Illinois, February. 1, 1852. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. MIKE HALEY. At the age of 22 she married (LORENZO) DOW MAULDING. To this union were born 9 children, 7 of whom have preceded their mother in death. Mr. MAULDING passed away about 22 years ago. She had resided in this county (Stoddard) about 30 years. Mrs. MAULDING leaves two children, Mrs. ONIE HOOKS of Flint, Michigan, and HARRY MAULDING of near Essex (Missouri); 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, also a number of other relatives and friends, who will miss her greatly. She also leaves a brother, J. H. HALEY of near Bloomfield (Missouri), two half-brothers, MIKE BURNS of McLeansboro, Illinois, and C. C. BURNS of Poplar Bluff (Missouri), and a half-sister, CATHERINE BURNS, of McLeansboro, Illinois. At the early age of 14, Mrs. MAULDING professed faith in CHRIST and always lead a devoted Christian life, as evidenced by her many deeds of kindness to her loved ones and neighbors. “AUNT SARAH”, as she was called by all who knew her, always wore a pleasant and jolly mood, which made her a welcome guest wherever she went, and until death claimed her, she bore her suffering bravely, and showed her great faith as was always characteristic of her life. She was laid to rest in Taylor Cemetery , last Sunday afternoon. A large crowd, estimated at near 600, attended the funeral services. Rev. GRIFFEY and Rev. TAYLOR conducting the  services. Her stepfather was EDWARD BURNS and her mother was ELIZA C. GATES. Her husband, LORENZO DOW MAULDING  was born in McLeansboro, Illinois Halmilton County and they lived there for many years and their children were born there. LORENZO DOW MAULDING was the son of WESLEY A. J. MAULDING, the grandson of JAMES WILLIAM MAULDING and the great-grandson  of AMBROSE MAULDING. Mr. RODGERS was born April 12, 1901, near Essex (Missouri). On Dec. 24, 1923, he was married to PEARL ZILES and she died Dec. 14, 1984. Mr. RODGERS was a member of the Vinson General Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, CALVIN RODGERS of Dexter; three daughters, ETHEL SHELDON of Belleville, Ill., NINA GEARY and BARBARA WILLIAMS, both of Dexter; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. The Revs. ELMER CATES and MARION GIPSON will officiate. Burial will be in Stoddard County Memorial Gardens. He was born Jan. 12, 1904, at Robinson, Ill. He was a member of Waterford Church of Christ in Michigan. He was married to MARTHA STEWART on Nov. 24, 1932, at Dexter, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, ANNA MARIE MOORE and BELINDA SWINGER, both of Michigan; one brother, ROY SWINGER of Dexter; one sister, BEULAH BROOKS of Dexter; and three granddaughters. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter, with burial in Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Maulding Funeral services were conducted at the Taylor Church Tuesday afternoon for Harry A. (Arthur) Maulding (57) who passed away at his home near Hill’s store east of Bernie following a cerebral hemmorhage. He is survived by his widow, five daughters and four sons. Interment was in Taylor Cemetery with Duncan service. From The Dexter Statesman Harry Arthur Maulding’s widow was Mamie Ellen Claytor. He was survied by 12 children, eight daughters, Grace Ellen, Ora Christine, Velma Fern, Alma Josephine, Doris Juanita, Betty Jane, Ruth Ilene, Deloris Eloise and 4 sons, John Wesley, Edward Arthur, Reginald Earl and Charles Dale. 1 daughter, Thelma Bell(e) preceeded him in death. He was born in McLeansboro, Hamilton County, Illinois 4-3-1886 and died in Stoddard County, Missouri 3-7-1942. He was the son of LORENZO DOW MAULDING and SARAH ELLEN HALEY MAULDING.
