Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *************************************************************************** Record Book of Wills in the County of Stoddard, Missouri Book A, pgs. 13 & 14 September the 1st day 1841 I Mary Monnts of the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri being very sick and weak in body and perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and Knowing that it is appointed for all both men and women Once to die do make and ordain this my last will & testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of almighty God that gave It and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurection I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty power of God and as ...such worldly Estate where with it has pleased God to Bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form after all my First debts is paid I will and bequeath to Eldest Daughter Judy Caterril one cow. I will to my Eldest Son Charles Latrick my dwelling and Improvements with my farming utentials and household furniture and kitchen furniture and also my hogs and cattle horses and Stock of Bees. I will to my daughter Rebecca Keys one cow and I will to my youngest and Last son George Monnts one 40 dollar horse to be paid by my Executor when said George Monnts is 21 years of age. I appoint my son Charles Latrick my Executor without Security also given and send me. Signed - Mary Monnts - her mark attest. William Macom Dempsey Simmons May 23ed day AD 1842 This day personally appeared Charles Letrie as Executor for Mary Mennet deceased and Present this her last will and Testament with the witnesses to this will before me John P. Rogers on of the acting Justices of the peace in Duck Creek Township in Stoddard County Missouri and they the witnesses Wm Macom and Dempsey Simmons both of the Same County and State aforsaid doath Say an Oath they believe the said Mary Monnet to be in her right mind.
