Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *************************************************************************** Record Book of Wills in the County of Stoddard, Missouri Book A, pgs. 18 - 20 In the name of God Amen, I John Hill of Pike Township Stoddard county State of Missouri do make this my last will & Testament, first, It is my request to be buried on my own land with as little expense as possible Second I will & bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Hill all my property, cattle, horses, Hogs, kitchen & household furniture land & all dues & demands coming to me to have & to hold so long as she remains my widow and at her death the land shall be divided between my two Sons Willoby B. Hill & William A. Hill. The balance of my property (personal) shall be equally divided among my three children two of which have been been previously mentioned & Rufinda C. Hill my only daughter. It is my request that Elizabeth Hill my wife be appointed executrix of my Estate after my decease that no Security be required. The above being my last will & testament Given under my hand and seal in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred & forty Six on the fifteenth day of January AD signed - John Hill Attest Doct. G.W. Haskins Joel I. Foster Joshua Mayberry State of Missouri, County of Stoddard I George W. Haskins do Solemnly swear that John Hill now deceased did on the fifteenth day of January AD 1846 publish the within foregoing as his last will and testament that he was then of sound and disposing mind and memory that he subscribed the same in my presence and that I signed my name as a witness to the testator, and also in the presence of Joshua Mayberry the other subscribing witness to the within will, and that said testator then and there declared the same to be his last will & testament. Haskins Sworn to and Subscribed before the undersigned clerk of the county court of Stoddard Missouri in open Court this 28th day of July AD 1846 State of Missouri, County of Stoddard I Joshua Mayberry do Solemnly swear that John Hill now deceased did on the fifteenth day of January AD 1846 published the foregoing as his last will and testament that he was then of Sound and disposing mind and memory that he Subscribed the same in my presence and that I signed my name as a witness to the same at the request and in the presents of the Testator as also in the presence of George W. Haskins the other subscribing witness to the within will and that said testator then and there declared the same to be his last will and testament sworn to and subscribed before the undersigned clerk of the county court of Stoddard County Missouri in open court this 28th day of July AD 1846.
