To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting: I John Stephenson of the county of Stoddard in the State of Missouri being in a very infirm state of health and a advanced age and being at the Same time according to my own apprehension of sound mind and anxious to make a suitable disposition of my real and personal Estate Do make, ordain, and declare this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all others: It is my will that all my Just debts be paid and the charges of my funeral Expences be paid by my executor hereinafter named and appointed out of my effects as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. After all my Just debts and funeral expences are paid I Give to George M. Hisaw Two (2) Dollars in lawful money and I give to Jane Moore the wife Jacob Moore two (2) dollars in lawful money of the United States. And I give to Jesse Hisaw son of said George M. Hisaw One hundred $100.00 Dollars in lawful money of the United States to be loaned out at Interest by his Guardian until he is twenty one years of age and the rest of my Effects and property to be sold and divided among my relation and Preston Pope and Thos Pope to share Equally with my relations: I hereby appoint Joseph G. Lewis My Executor of this my last will and Testament In Testimony whereof I have hereto Subscribed My name and affixed My seal this 7th day of February A.D. 1880 - witness J.G. Nall Lawson Proffer pg. 111 State of Missouri, County of Stoddard In the matter of Proving the Last will and testament of John Stephenson late of Stoddard County. In vacation of the Probate Court of Stoddard County Missouri Be it Remembered that on this the 28th day of April A.D. 1885 personally appeared before the undersigned P.G. Wilson Judge and Exofficir Clerk of the Probate Court of the County and state aforesaid James G. Nall one of the subscribing witnesses to to the annexed Last Will of John Stephenson and being by me first duly sworn deposes and says That he signed the name of John Stephenson the testator to the annexed will by his Direction, at his request and in his presence and he the said James G. Nall further deposes and says that the said John Stephenson the Testator produced the said will or Instrument of writing and in his presence declared the said Instrument of writing to his act and published the same as his last will that he, the said testator was at the time of publishing his said will of sound mind and more than twenty one years of age and that this deponent and Lawson Proffer attested the said will as witnesses thereto by subscribing their names to the same in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each other. Wilson Judge and Exofficir clerk of the county of Stoddard and State aforesaid have hereunto subscribed My name and affixed the seal of said court at office in the county aforesaid this 28th day of April 1885. P.G. Wilson Judge of Probate State of Missouri, County of Stoddard In the Probate Court in Vacation. Be it Remembered that on this 3rd day of March A.D. 1885 before one W. R. McCarroll Clerk of the Probate Court held in and for the county and state aforesaid personally appeared Lawson Proffer, who is one of the subscribing witnesses to the annexed Last Will of John Stephenson, Decd. and being by me first duly sworn Deposes and says That the said John Stephenson the Testator after having heard said will or Instrument of writing read requested James G. Nall to Subscribe his name thereto and the said John Stephenson made his mark in the presence of Deponent and James G. Nall and published and declared said will or Instrument of writing to his last will and testament and that at the time of signing the same he the said testator was of sound and Disposing mind and more than twenty one years of age and that said deponent attested said will as witnesses thereto by subscribing his name to the same in the presence of the testator and in the presence of said James G. Nall and at the request of the said James G. Nall and at the request of the said John Stevenson the testator. Lawson Proffer Sworn to and subscribed before me this 8th day of March A.D. 1885. W.R. McCarroll clerk of the Probate court of Stoddard County State of Missouri having Examined the foregoing Instrument purporting to be the Last Will of John Stephenson deceased and signed by John Stephenson and having heard the testimony of Jas. G. Nall and Lawson Proffer subscribing witnesses thereto in relation to the Execution of the same do declare and adjudge daid Instrument to be the Last Will and testament pg. 113 of the said John Stephenson deceased late of Stoddard County, Missouri.
