Lancaster. In the name of God Amen. I Joseph L. Lancaster of the county of Stoddard in the State of Missouri aged sixty nine years being of sound mind, do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows: 1st. I request That all my just debts (be paid - crossed out) and my Funeral Expences suitable to my means and position in life be paid out of my Estate after my decease first. 2nd I give and bequeath to James Lancaster my son the sum of one Dollar and to my daughter Mary Cunningham the sum of one Dollar Newton Lancaster the sum of one Dollar Eliza Jane Denson the sum of one dollar, Ellen Lewis the sum of one dollar William Lancaster the sum of one Dollar. 3rd . I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Jane Lancaster all the rest and residue of my Estate to have and to hold during her natural Life or widowhood. And after her death or marriage I give and bequeath All of said property and Effects given and bequeathed to my said wife to my children Mahala P. Lancaster (Reed), Joseph P. Lancaster, Major C. Lancastor, George W. Lancaster & Laura A. Lancaster to have and hold absolutely. I appoint my son William Lancaster, Executor of this my will, revoking any former made by me made In witnesses whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and set my seal this 27th day of September A.D. 1883. Lancaster to be his last Will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of Each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. T.H. Maulden C.L. Kenton State of Missouri County of Stoddard In Vacation of the Probate court of Stoddard County, Missouri. Be it Remembered that on this the 27th day of April A.D. 1885 personally appeared before the undersigned P.G. Wilson Judge and Exofficir Clerk of the probate Court of the county and State aforesaid, C. L. Keaton and T.H. Maulden, the subscribing witnesses to the annexed Will of Joseph L. Lancaster and being by me first duly sworn the said T.H. Maulden deposeth and says That he signed the name of Joseph L. Lancaster the Testator to the annexed Will by his direction and at his request and in his presence, and that the said C. L. Keaton and T.H. Maulden depose and say that the said Joseph L. Lancaster the Testator produced the said Will or Instrument of writing and in their presence declared said will or Instrument of writing to his act and published the same as his last will that he the testator was at the time of publishing his said Will of sound mind and more than twenty one years of age and that said deponents attested said will as witnesses thereto by subscribing their names thereto in the presence of the said testator at his request and in the presence of Each other. Wilson Judge of the Probate court of Stoddard County State of Missouri having Examined the foregoing Instrument purporting to be the Last Will of Joseph L. Lancaster deceased and signed by Joseph L. Lancaster and having heard the testimony of T.H. Maulden and C.L. Kenton subscribing witnesses thereto in Relation to the Execution of the same do declare and adjudge said Instrument to be the Last Will and testament of the said Joseph L. Lancaster deceased late of Stoddard County, Missouri. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said court at office in Bloomfield this 28th day of April 1885 P.G.
