I Simeon Mills of the County of Stoddard in the State of Missouri aged nearly seventy two years being of sound mind do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows: I. I request that my funeral be conducted under the direction of my beloved wife and in a manner suitable to my means and position in life and that a suitable monument or stone be placed by her to mark the final resting place of my remains the cost of which shall be considered funeral expenses. And I direct that my funeral charges, the expenses of administration on my Estate and all my just debts be paid out of my personal Estate and if that be insufficient I expressly authorize my Executor hereinafter named to sell at public or private sale the whole or such part of my Estate real or personal as may be sufficient for that purpose. II. I give and bequeath to my son Jackariah Albert Mills out of my estate of sum of one dollar. III. I give and bequeath to my daughter Adaline Jane Thompson out of my Estate the sum of one dollar. IIII. And I further give and bequeath out of my Estate the sum of one dollar each to Mary Ann Boren, Johnathan Asberry Mills, and Eliza Thompson. V. and I further give and bequeath out of my Estate the sum of one dollar Each to Sarah E. Glomsely and Arminda Mills. And I further give and bequeath to Francis Marvin pg. 133 Mills and to Dora Ann Mills each the sum of one dollar. And all the rest residue and remainder of my estate real and personal I give desire and bequeath to my beloved wife Angeline Mills. The real Estate thus by me bequeathed to my beloved wife being described as follows in a deed made to me viz: the South half of the South West quarter and the South West quarter of the south Eat quarter of Section No. Eleven (11) in Township No. Twenty three (23) North of Range No. Nine (9) East. I appoint my wife Angeline Mills executrix of this my last will and testament revoking any former will by me made and I authorize and empower my said Executrix in the settlement of my Estate and of my debts due me to compromise such debts and if she thinks it advantageous to my estate to accept in satisfaction less than the full amount thereof. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 8th day of November A.D. 1887. Simeon Mills The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof signed and declared by the said Simeon Mills to be his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto J.H. McAnally W.E. Crow Proof of Will State of Missouri, County of Stoddard In the Probate Court Be it Remembered that on this the 1st day of March A.D. 1888 before me P.G. Wilson Judge of the probate Court held in and for the county and State aforesaid, personally appeared J.H. McAnally and W.E. Crow who are the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will of Simeon Mills deceased and being by me first duly sworn depose and say That the said Simeon Mills the Testator subscribed the same in their presence and published and declared said will or Instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and that at the time of signing the same he the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and more than twenty-one years of age, and that said deponents attested said will as witness thereto by subscribing their names to the same in the presence of the Testator pg. 134 and of each other and at the request of the said testator. Wilson Judge of the Probate court of Stoddard County State of Missouri having Examined the foregoing Instrument purporting to be the Last Will of Simeon Mills deceased and having heard the testimony of J.H. McAnally and W.E. Crow subscribing witnesses thereto in Relation to the Execution of the same do declare and adjudge said Instrument to be the Last Will and testament of the said Simeon Mills deceased late of Stoddard County, Missouri.
