I Abner Wood of the county of Stoddard in the state of Missouri age seventy five years past being of sound mind do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows. I request that my funeral be conducted under the direction of my beloved wife in a manner suitable to my means and position in life and I direct that my funeral charges, the expenses of of administering on my estate and all of my just debts be paid out of my personal estate together with all personal bequests hereafter named and made by me and if the same be insufficient I expressly authorize my executor herein after named to sell at Public or private sale such part of my Real Estate as may be sufficient for that purpose first selling personal property belonging to my estate and subject to sale by my executor. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Pernelia Wood the home place during her natural life the said being the land upon which I now live to hold and enjoy the same during her natural life, I further bequeath to her absolutely all the personal property of which I may stand seized at the time of my death. I give and bequeath to the children of my beloved son Leander Wood the sum of five dollars to be divided among them equally. I also bequeath to the heirs of my beloved daughter Pernela Shelton the sum of two dollars and if there be more have one to be divided among them equally. And I further give and bequeath to my beloved sons Joseph Wood, Hiram Wood and Francis Wood each the sum of Five dollars in full of there interest and share in my estate at and after my death. To my beloved son Sylvan Wood I give and bequeath absolutely and in fee the South West quarter of the South West quarter of Section No. (34) Township No. (27) North of Range No. (9) East. And to my beloved son Sylvester Wood I give and bequeath absolutely and in fee the South East quarter of the South East quarter of Section No. (33) Township No. (27) North of Range No. (9) East. And to my beloved son Ferdinand DeSoto Wood I give and bequeath absolutely and in fee the South West quarter of the South West quarter of Section No. (33) Township No. (27) west of Range No. (9) East The last and foregoing bequest to my son Sylvan Wood, Sylvester Wood and Ferdinand DeSoto Wood are subject to the interest here before in this my will bequeathed to my beloved wife Pernelia Wood. I appoint my son Sylvester Wood executor of this my last will revoking my former .... Pg. 191 made in witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 25th day of January 1894. Abner Wood R.L. Lindsey F.M. McGowen Proof of Will State of Missouri, County of Stoddard In the Probate Court Be it Remembered that on this the 25th day of February A.D. 1896 before me D. Wilcox Clerk of the probate Court held in and for the county and State aforesaid, personally appeared R.L. Lindsey and F. M. McGowen who are the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will of Abner Wood deceased and being by me first duly sworn depose and say That the said Abner Wood the Testator subscribed the same in their presence and published and declared said will or Instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and that at the time of signing the same he the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and more than twenty-one years of age, and that said deponents attested said will as witnesses thereto by subscribing their names to the same in the presence of the Testator and of each other and at the request of the said testator. Wilcox Clerk of the Probate court of Stoddard County State of Missouri having Examined the foregoing Instrument purporting to be the Last Will of Abner Wood and having heard the testimony of R.L. Lindsey and F.M. McGowen subscribing witnesses thereto in Relation of the Execution of the same do declare and adjudge said Instrument to be the Last Will and testament of the said Abner Wood deceased late of Stoddard County, Missouri. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said court at office in Bloomfield this 25th day of February 1896. D.
