Davis. Deposition of Witnesses produced Sworn and Examined on the 7th Day of November Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and Seventy Eight in the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri. Before me George Hauck Notary Public in a certain cause Touching the Execution of a Nuncupative will by one David J. Davis, Deceased. James A. Dodson of lawful age being produced and sworn upon his oath states I know David J. Davis, he is dead, he died about the 7th day or 8th day of October 1878 in this county and State; I was not present when he died. I was present with him when he made a verbal will, he made the will at Mrs. John Smith's house where he had resided for more than 10 days before that time, He called Me and Mr. Mitchell and we was there more to witness that he gave the imposement on a certain place of Grand Road Land to his son William Davis and also that he gave to his son after his death all that was in the house situated on Said premises of grand road land, he was sick at the time, but he was in his right mind, he remarked that he was liable to die at any minute. The property given to William Davis was not worth exceeding two hundred dollars. James Dodson - his mark Commission Expires Feb 14 AD 18____ Dispositions of witnesses produced sworn and Examined this the 7th day of November A.D. 1878 in the county of Stoddard and State of Missouri before me George Haucks Notary Public in to certain cause or Execution of a nuncupative will by one David J. Davis, Decd. Mrs. Adaline Mitchell of lawful age being produced Sworne and Examined on her oath saith I knew David J. Davis, he is dead, he died about the 7th day of October AD 1878, he died at home in this County and State. I was not present when he died, I was present when he made a verbal will. It was in Instance as follows. The home place being an pg. 89 improvement on Grand road land was to go to William Davis and all that was in the house was to be his also. This will was made by him about one month before his death he was sick at the time and expected to die Eany minute, he called me to be witness, he said he wanted me to be a witness of this his will. All the above property is worth - less than two hundred dollars.
