Hopper, of Stoddard in the State of Missouri do make and publish this my last will and testament. I - I give and bequeath to my grand son Alfred Miers the sum of Ten ($10.00) Dollars II - I do also give and bequeath to my grand son William Miers the sum of Ten ($10.00) Dollars which several legacies, or sums of money I will and order to be paid in six months after my decease. III - I further give and devise to my son Lewis Wilson Hopper his heirs and assigns the following real estate situate in the county of Stoddard and State of Missouri to have and to hold the same to him the said Lewis Wilson Hopper his heirs and assigns forever; All of Lot No. Two (2) of the North east quarter of Section No. Five (5) in township No. Twenty four (24) Range Ten (10) East containing Eighty (80) acres more or less. Also the east half of Lot No. One (1) of the North east quarter and the North east quarter of the South east quarter of Section No. Five (5) in township No. Twenty four (24) North of Range Ten (10) east containing eighty (80) acres lying and being in said county of Stoddard and State of Missouri. And lastly, as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate, whatsoever after payment of all my just debts, I give and bequeath the same to my said son Lewis Wilson Hopper and I hereby appoint C.E. Smith and Jordan Howell as my executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. Garner and Chester Grojean - who being duly sworn upon -their -oath, depose- -and say- -that - they -w -ere - present and saw -William T. Hopper - sign the foregoing instrument, of date - October 24th - 19 -04 - purporting to be - - the Last Will and Testament of h -im - the said - William T. Hopper - deceased, and signed by said -William T. Hopper - deceased, late of- Stoddard -County,- Missouri -and having heard the testimony of -E.J. Hopper - deceased, late of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, hath, in due form of law been exhibited, proved and recorded, in the office of the - - of the Probate Court of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, a copy of which is hereunto annexed; and Inasmuch as it appears that -Jordan Howell (C.E. Smith the other executor appointed in the will refusing to act) - ha -s - been appointed execut -or - in and by said Last Will and Testament, to execute the same, and to the end that the property of the said Testator may be preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal right or interest therein, and that the said Last Will and Testament may be executed according to the request and instruction of the said Testator, we do hereby authorize - him - the said -Jordan Howell - as such Execut- or -, to collect and secure, all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said -William T. Hopper - at the time of h -is - death, in whosoever hands or possession the same may be found; and to perform and fulfill all such duties as may be enjoined upon -him - by said Last Will and Testament, so far as there shall be property and the law charge - him - ; and in general to do and perform all other acts which are now or may be hereafter required of -him - by law.
