I Martin Larsen, of the City of Bloomfield, County of Stoddard and State of Missouri, aged 72 years being of sound and disposing mind, but recognizing the uncertainty of life, do make, sign and publish this My last Will and Testament hereby revoking any former Wills by me made. 1st. I desire that my funeral services be conducted under the direction and according to the wishes of my beloved wife, Sarah F. Larsen, and in a manner suitable to my means and mode of living, and that a suitable monument be erected to mark my last resting place. 2nd. I desire and direct that my funeral expenses, expenses of administration and all just debts and demands against my estate be paid. 3rd . I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Sarah F. Larsen the sum of one Thousand ($1000.00) Dollars in lawful money of the U.S.A. This bequest is made to repay to her that sum of money loaned by her to me in 1904 with interest at 8% per annum from date of my death. 4th. All the rest and residue of the property of which I may die seized and possessed of whatever nature, real estate, personal and mixed property, I give and bequeath in equal parts - share and share alike - to my beloved wife, Sarh F. Larsen and to my beloved children - James P. Larsen, J.C. (Christian) Larsen, Alma S. Kirby and William H. Larsen, and in case of the death of either of my said children or descendants; and in case of the death of my beloved wife, Sarah F. Larsen, before my decease then her share in my estate to be equally divided among my children aforesaid except the one thousand ($1000.00) dollars above referred to. 5th. It is my will and I so direct that my said wife, Sarah F. Larsen, accept the provisions made for her in this will in lieu of all statutory allowances and dower and homestead in the real estate of which I may die seized. 6th. It is my will and I so direct that my executors hereinafter appointed shall within two years after my death sell and dispose of all my real estate and that they are hereby empowered and authorized to sell all of my real estate at either public or private sale, as they may deem most advantageous to my estate, and that they have full power to execute due deeds of conveyance to the purchaser or /pg. 2/ purchasers of any or all of the real estate of which I may die seized and possessed as fully and completely as I could do, if living and that the proceeds of such sale or sales be divided among my said wife and children, as above directed. 7th. I direct that my executors hereinafter appointed make distribution of my estate, as soon after my death as may be consistent with the best interest of my said estate, and that in Marshaling the assets of said estate they have power to settle and compromise any doubtful claims on such terms as they seem proper. 8th. I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife, Sarah F. Larsen, and my beloved son, James P. Larsen, as executors of this my Last Will and Testament, and in the event that either of them die before my decease, the survivor to execute the provisions of this will, and for their services in administrating on my said estate, I give to each of them the sum of $100.00 in full for their services herein. 9th. In testimony of the great love and affection that I have for my said wife and children, and the kindly regard which they have always manifested for me and fore one another, it is my sincere wish and desire that they accept the provisions of this will in the same spirit in which they are made, and that they will avoid all contentions over the division of my property and they continue to entertain for each other entire good will. In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name this 4th day of April A.D. 1905. Green, Judge - of the-Probate -Court, held in and for - -and State of Missouri, personally appeared - W.L. Tucker and Bert Smith -who being duly sworn upon -their-oath, depose- - and say- -that -they -w -ere- present and saw -Martin Larsen - sign the foregoing instrument, of date - April 4th - 19 -10 - purporting to be -- the Last Will and Testament of h -im - the said -Martin Larsen - and heard - him -publish and declare the same to be h -is - Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of signing the same, the said -Martin Larsen -was of sound and disposing mind, and that th -ese - deponent -s subscribed their names thereto as witnesses to the same in the presence of the testat -or - and of each other, and at the request of the said testat -or - who was more than 21 years of age at the date of so declaring and signing said instrument. Green, Judge - of the-Probate-Court- of Stoddard -County, Missouri, having examined the foregoing instrument purporting to be - - the Last Will and Testament of -Martin Larsen -deceased, and signed by said - Martin Larsen - deceased, late of-Stoddard -County,- Missouri -and having heard the testimony of -W.L. Tucker - and -Bert Smith - subscribing witnesses thereto, in relation to the execution of the same, do declare and adjudge said Instrument -to be -the Last Will and Testament of said -Martin Larsen - deceased, and the same is therefore -admitted to probate. Green Probate Judge /pg.4/ LETTERS TESTAMENTARY STATE OF MISSOURI County of-Stoddard To all to Whom these Presents shall come--GREETING: Know Ye, That the last will and testament of -Martin Larsen - deceased, late of-Stoddard - County, Missouri, hath, in due form of law been exhibited, proved and recorded, in the office of the -Judge - of the Probate Court of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, a copy of which is hereunto annexed; and Inasmuch as it appears that -Sarah F. Larsen and James P. Larsen - ha -s - been appointed execut -or - in and by said Last Will and Testament, to execute the same, and to the end that the property of the said Testator may be preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal right or interest therein, and that the said Last Will and Testament may be executed according to the request and instruction of the said Testator, we do hereby authorize -them - the said -Sarah F. Larsen and James P. Larsen - as such Execut-ors -, to collect and secure, all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said -Martin Larsen -at the time of h - - death, in whosoever hands or possession the same may be found; and to perform and fulfill all such duties as may be enjoined upon -them - by said Last Will and Testament, so far as there shall be property and the law charge -them - ; and in general to do and perform all other acts which are now or may be hereafter required of -them - by law. Larsen - as Securities, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Missouri in the sum of - Seventy Thousand ($70000.00) - DOLLARS, for the payment of which we do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated at-Bloomfield -in the State aforesaid, this -31st -day of - October -A.D. 19- 10 The Condition of the Above Bond is, That if the said -Sarah F. Larsen and James P. Larsen, Executors -of the Last Will and Testament of -Martin Larsen - deceased, late of-Stoddard - County, Missouri shall well and faithfully execute the said Last Will and Testament, and shall make true and faithful inventories, returns, and settlements of accounts of the Estate of the said Testator, according to law, and shall, moreover, do and perform all other matters and things touching the execution of the said Last Will and testament, as are or shall be prescribed by law, or enjoined on -them - by the order, judgment or decree of any Court having competent jurisdiction, then this obligation to be void and of no effect; otherwise to remain in full force.
